New Openings in Coastal Delaware: What’s New, Reopening, and Coming Soon

Coastal Delaware continues to grow with new restaurants, refreshed favorites, and businesses opening their doors across the region.

From long-awaited dining spots to newly reopened chains and locally owned businesses now welcoming customers, there’s always something new to check out.

Whether you’re a local or just spending time at the beach, this list keeps you in the loop on what’s new around the area.

Rare Steak & Seafood

Rare Steak & Seafood is a new, locally owned restaurant coming soon to Coastal Delaware, created by Tamara, Alex, and their close-knit Rare family.

For years, the team worked together at one of Delaware’s top restaurants, building their skills and passion for high-quality food and hospitality.

When that restaurant was unexpectedly sold, they found themselves at a crossroads and decided to turn that moment into an opportunity to finally open a place of their own.

Since sharing their plans publicly, Rare Steak & Seafood has received an outpouring of support from the local community.

That enthusiasm was especially clear during a recent slogan contest on social media, where many people liked, shared, and submitted ideas.

Standout entries like “Because ordinary isn’t on the menu,” “Defined by fire and tide,” and “Rare cuts, prime catch” reflect exactly what the restaurant aims to offer: elevated steaks, fresh seafood, and bold flavors in a welcoming, down-to-earth setting.

With its focus on quality, warmth, and community, Rare Steak & Seafood is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated new restaurant openings in Coastal Delaware.

Lani Lou’s Brew

Lani Lou’s Brew is a welcoming new coffee spot that brings island-inspired warmth and a strong sense of community to Millsboro.

Opened with a ribbon-cutting celebration in December, the café focuses on great coffee, tasty food, and creating a space where people can relax, connect, and feel at home.

The team behind Lani Lou’s Brew embraces the idea of ohana, treating customers like family and encouraging meaningful conversation alongside a good cup of coffee.

Beyond coffee and food, Lani Lou’s Brew has quickly become a local gathering place, hosting game nights and community-focused discounts that bring people together.

With its friendly atmosphere and emphasis on belonging, the café is already carving out a special place in the local scene and is a great example of the kind of small business that helps Coastal Delaware communities thrive.

Coastal Kennels

Coastal Kennels is quickly becoming a favorite spot for dogs and their humans in the Rehoboth Beach area.

This family-run business has been built from a love of animals and a long history in the community, and that sense of care comes through in every part of the experience.

Dogs have plenty of space to move around both indoors and outdoors, and the staff takes time to get to know each pup so they feel comfortable and happy while they stay.

From regular potty breaks and one-on-one playtime to cozy beds and thoughtful touches, everything is designed to make dogs feel safe and loved.

The team also offers grooming and pampering options, from a quick bath to a full spa experience, and owners can even get photo updates to see how their furry friends are enjoying themselves.

What really sets Coastal Kennels apart is the personal attention and warmth that comes from being a family-run operation with deep ties to the area.

It’s a space where pets are treated with care, patience, and affection, and where every dog can enjoy a little adventure and relaxation while their humans are away.

Taco Bell

The Taco Bell on Route 1 near Rehoboth Beach is officially back open after a fire damaged the restaurant in late 2024, and locals couldn’t be happier.

Located in the Rehoboth Mall along Route 1, the spot was closed for more than a year while the building was fully cleared and rebuilt from the ground up.

As construction progressed, anticipation grew, with fans eagerly waiting for the return of their favorite tacos, burritos, and Crunchwrap Supremes.

The wait is finally over, as the restaurant reopened in early January, bringing back familiar flavors and a convenient go-to for quick meals.

Whether you’re stopping in on the way to the beach or grabbing a late-night bite after an evening out, it’s great to have this local favorite back in action.

With fast, friendly service and the classics everyone loves, it’s no surprise the reopening has the community buzzing!
