The 4th Annual Songwriter Showcase Is Back In Bethany Beach

Bethany Beach’s Songwriter Showcase is back for its fourth year, bringing three nights of free original music to the Bandstand from May 29th to 31st, with performances running nightly from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

This year’s lineup includes artists with regional and national ties, with performances that move through Americana, roots, country, soul, and rock.

Friday, May 29th - The 19th Street Band

The 19th Street Band kicks off the Songwriter Showcase with the kind of high-energy Americana that feels made for a Bethany Beach bandstand night.

The group is known for big vocal harmonies, driving rhythms, and a lively mix of roots, hillbilly, and gypsy rock influences that keep their shows moving from start to finish.

Led by Caolaidhe “Cally” Davis and Meghan Davis, with Christopher Brown on bass and Patty Dougherty on drums, the band will also be joined by The Back Alley Horns for an even bigger sound.

They have played major festivals across the U.S. and overseas, including DelFest, Charm City Bluegrass Festival, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and the Open House Festival in Northern Ireland, making this a fun opening night for anyone who loves a crowd-pleasing live show.

Saturday, May 30th - Craig Bickhardt

Craig Bickhardt brings decades of songwriting history to Bethany Beach, and his set is one for anyone who loves hearing the craft behind the music.

He signed his first record deal at 19, has released several acclaimed albums, and spent years as a staff songwriter for EMI and Universal Music.

His songs have been recorded by names like Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Alison Krauss, Trisha Yearwood, and many others, with Billboard hits, platinum records, and film credits also part of his long career.

On stage, Bickhardt is known for pairing strong guitar work with thoughtful storytelling, giving audiences a closer look at the songs, the stories, and the creative process behind them.

Saturday, May 30th - Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams brings a warm, soulful sound to the Saturday night lineup, blending country, soul, rock and roll, and Americana.

A Nashville singer-songwriter and pianist, Williams first recorded her debut album Ruby after earning a degree in piano performance, then continued shaping her sound through co-writing and collaborations in Nashville.

Her music carries the influence of artists like Carole King and Gregg Allman, with songs that lean into character, memory, and place.

Now writing from the East Coast while still collaborating in Nashville, Williams is preparing to release her new album Chapters in May 2026, a project inspired by her hometown and her return home from Music City.

Saturday, May 30th - Faith Noel

Faith Noel adds a rising Nashville voice to the Writers Round, bringing powerful vocals, multi-instrumental talent, and a growing list of performances and awards.

She got an early start at just 12 years old, singing with bluegrass legend Rhonda Vincent at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival, and has continued building her career ever since.

Noel has performed at major events like Barefoot Country Music Festival and has opened for artists including Chayce Beckham, LoCash, Restless Road, LANCO, and Dylan Marlowe.

With original songs on streaming platforms and recordings made at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, she is one of the fresh voices on this year’s lineup.

Sunday, May 31st - Scott Tournet

Scott Tournet closes out the Showcase with a career-spanning performance rooted in rock, songwriting, and a lot of musical range.

He is best known as a founding member of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, where he helped shape the band’s sound, co-wrote songs, and was part of a run that included four Billboard Top 40 albums, a gold record for “Paris,” major festival stages, and global tours.

His work has also connected him with artists like Dan Auerbach, Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss, and members of The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead, and Phish.

Since leaving the Nocturnals, Tournet has explored Latin and West African sounds with Elektric Voodoo, returned to his rock roots with Rock & Roll Stories, and released the more singer-songwriter focused Home in 2025.

His current live shows pull from that whole journey, with Tournet singing, playing multiple stringed instruments, and even using bass pedals with his feet.
