April 24th–26th: What’s Happening This Weekend in Coastal Delaware

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, Coastal Delaware is packed with options.

From spring festivals and outdoor races to live performances, wellness classes, and community events, there is a mix of things happening across the area that make it easy to plan a full and fun few days!

Doodles in Dewey

If you’re a dog person, this is easily one of the most fun weekends you can be part of around here.

Doodles in Dewey brings together hundreds of doodles and their humans for a weekend that’s equal parts chaotic and wholesome, with everything from a costume parade along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk to a big beach romp where you can just hang out, meet other dog owners, and enjoy the energy of it all.

There are also “yappy hours” at spots like Zogg's Raw Bar and Grill, Dewey Beer Company, and The Wheelhouse at Fisherman's Wharf, where part of what you spend goes back to PAWS for People, a nonprofit that provides pet therapy to people who really need it.

With all the social events, beach time, and even a relaxing yoga class you can do with or without your dog, this weekend is the kind of weekend that feels easy, community-driven, and really fun, whether you're taking part or just stopping by to see all the dogs.

Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend

This is a great reason to get outside and really look at what's around you.

The Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend is celebrating its 30th year and brings you right into the middle of one of the best times for bird activity on the peninsula, when migrating species are passing through for nesting season.

You’ll explore a mix of environments like wetlands, forests, and coastal areas while spotting everything from warblers to raptors, all with experienced guides.

There are different field trips across locations like Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Redden State Forest, and Cape Henlopen State Park, so you can choose the experience that fits you best, whether that’s on foot, driving, or even out on the water.

With 159 species spotted last year, this is one of those events where you’ll quickly realize just how much is happening around you when you slow down and look.

You can jump into TRX, which uses straps and your own body weight to build strength and stability in a way that’s low impact but still challenging, or try the MELT Method, which focuses on mobility, circulation, and relieving tension using specialized props.

There are also heated Vinyasa classes that bring a more intense, fast-paced flow, along with restorative sessions designed to help your body recover and reset.

Whether you want something energizing or something that helps you slow down and recover, you’ll find a format that meets you where you are and pushes you just enough to feel the difference.

Sneaker Impact at Tanger Seaside

If you’ve got old sneakers sitting in your closet, this is a really easy way to turn them into something useful instead of just throwing them out.

Sneaker Impact at Tanger Seaside is all about giving your used shoes a second life by collecting and recycling them into new materials, helping keep waste out of landfills in the process.

In celebration of this Earth Day, all you have to do is bring at least two pairs of sneakers in any condition, and in return you’ll get exclusive coupons toward a new pair, which makes it feel like a win on both sides.

It’s a simple stop you can add to your day while shopping, but it still makes a meaningful difference, especially if you’ve been meaning to clean out your closet anyway.

Browser's Forensic Files Book Club at Browseabout Books

If you’re into true crime and like the idea of actually talking through a story instead of just reading it on your own, this book club at Browseabout Books is a great way to do it.

Browser’s Forensic Files focuses on the darker side of real-life cases, and the featured pick, Lost Girls by Robert Kolker, dives deep into the Long Island Serial Killer investigation, exploring not just the crimes but also the lives of the victims and the gaps in the system that allowed the case to unfold the way it did.

You can show up without registering, grab the book at a discount if you want to read along, and even settle in with a drink from the café while you’re there.

If you enjoy true crime podcasts, documentaries, or anything that makes you think a little deeper about how these cases are handled, this is an easy way to connect with people who are just as into it as you are.
