April 17th–19th: What’s Happening This Weekend in Coastal Delaware

If you’ve been waiting for a weekend that actually feels like spring in Coastal Delaware, this is it!

Between blooming tulips across Lewes, live performances, unique pop-up experiences, and everything in between, April 17th through 19th is packed with ways to get out and enjoy the area.

2026 Lewes Tulip Celebration

The Lewes Tulip Celebration is a yearly event that people love. It adds color to the town and pays homage to its Dutch roots by planting more than 31,000 tulips and 5,000 spring bulbs all over Lewes.

The celebration lasts for several weekends and invites people to use the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map to visit more than 20 places.

You can get the map at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce's Visitor Center in the historic Fisher Martin House at Zwaanendael Park or at brochure boxes around the historic district.

Along with walking through colorful displays, visitors can take part in special events like the tulip sale at Bank Street Plaza and guided "History in Bloom" walking tours that combine Lewes' maritime history with information about the many types of tulips planted around town.

You can browse at your own pace, dig through different styles, and maybe even walk away with something you didn’t know you were looking for.

You’re not just eating, you’re getting the story behind each pour, guided by Count Manfredo himself, who’s coming in from Italy for the night.

The menu moves from lighter, fresh flavors like butter lettuce and tuna tartelletta into richer dishes like lamb frittelle and seared local black bass, all paired with wines that are meant to elevate each bite.

And then it wraps up with a dessert that leans a little playful, with sweet corn zeppole and a chocolate espresso dip.

You’ll be walking alongside hundreds of others, from families to teams to supporters who all show up for the same reason, and that energy is something you really feel once you’re there.

What makes this one especially thoughtful is that it offers different walk experiences, including a quieter option with no music and limited announcements, which makes it more accessible for those who need a calmer environment.

ArcoStrum at Bethel United Methodist Church

If you think classical music is predictable, this performance will probably change your mind.

ArcoStrum is a violin and guitar duo that mixes technical skill with a really creative approach, pulling from everything from Vivaldi to traditional Chinese music to even progressive rock.

Both musicians are very talented on their own, but what really stands out is how they work together on stage.

They have a chemistry that makes the music feel more alive and less like something you are just watching.

They’ve performed all over the world and built a reputation for keeping audiences hooked, so if you’re even a little curious about live instrumental music, this is a great way to experience it in a way that feels fresh and different.

Lazy Mary Productions "After the Beatles" at Cinema Art Theater

If you’re a Beatles fan, this show takes things in a direction you don’t always see.

Instead of just focusing on the classic hits that everyone knows, it goes deeper and looks at the solo careers of John, Paul, George, and Ringo and the music they made after the band broke up.

You'll hear songs like "Imagine," "My Sweet Lord," and "Band on the Run," as well as some surprises, so it still feels familiar but shows a different side of their legacy.

The performers bring those songs back to life in a way that feels both nostalgic and a little more personal, especially in a place like Cinema Art Theater where it's easy to just sit back and enjoy it.

  • Date: Saturday, April 18th

Wine, Cheese & Beer Tasting at Cape Henlopen State Park

You’ll get to sample a mix of craft beers, wines, and cheeses, along with small bites that are actually chosen to pair well with what you’re drinking, so it feels a little more curated than just a casual tasting.

It’s a good option if you want something social but still relaxed, where you can take your time, try new flavors, and maybe even discover something you’d want to go back and order again later.

  • Date: Saturday, April 18th
  • Hours: From 4pm to 6pm
  • Address: Queens Road, Lewes

WomenKind “Life, Love, & Laughter” at Westminster Presbyterian Church

WomenKind, a newer ensemble from the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, brings together an a cappella concert that blends pop, jazz, Broadway, and traditional choral music into something that feels both familiar and refreshing.

You’ll hear songs you recognize like “California Dreamin’” and “Popular,” mixed with pieces that highlight emotion, storytelling, and vocal harmony in a really powerful way.

It's not just the music; it's also the message behind it that makes the whole thing feel a little more meaningful while still being fun.

The message is about celebrating connection, identity, and the freedom to live and love as you are.

Hiatus 24’s Soundbath & Reiki Experience

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or just need a real reset, this is the kind of experience that lets you fully unplug without having to “do” anything.

You walk into a peaceful, quiet room and are led into a state of deep relaxation while the sounds of crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other instruments fill the air.

You can feel them as well as hear them.

The group also shares Reiki energy, which adds to the experience and helps people feel balanced and free.

If you’ve been curious about sound healing or just want something that genuinely slows you down, this is a really good one to try.

James Kirby with Ryan Yingst at The Listening Booth

James Kirby brings that singer-songwriter style that leans into real emotion, with warm vocals and guitar-driven melodies that feel both intimate and polished at the same time.

He’s coming in with new material from his latest project, which is being released gradually, so there’s something special about hearing those songs live as they’re still unfolding.

It's not just about the music; there's also a story element that makes it feel more like a shared experience than just a performance.
