Every winter, Lewes comes alive with the warmth of the holidays. Streets lined with twinkling lights and historic homes create the perfect setting for one of the town’s most beloved traditions: The Annual Holiday House Tour of Lewes!

Organized by the Lewes Historical Society, this event blends local history, architecture, and holiday cheer, offering guests a day filled with community spirit.

On Saturday, December 6th, from 9:30am to 4pm., visitors will have the chance to explore some of Lewes’ most beautiful properties, each decorated to showcase the magic of the season.

The Holiday House Tour is a highlight of Lewes’ holiday calendar, attracting both locals and visitors eager to experience the town’s architectural and cultural heritage. 

Each property on the tour opens its doors to share the beauty and warmth of the season, offering a glimpse into Lewes’ diverse range of home styles and festive décor.

What Makes the Tour Special?

Holiday Village and Market 

The festive atmosphere continues at the Holiday Village and Market, located at 110 Shipcarpenter Street on the Lewes Historical Society’s main campus. 

Here, visitors can enjoy holiday shopping, music, and the cozy sense of community that makes this event so special.

Highlights of the market include:

  • Seasonal greenery, handmade wreaths, and holiday arrangements.
  • Locally made gifts and crafts from regional artists.
  • A chance to meet the friendly alpacas from Four Acres Living.

The Holiday Village and Market will also be open to the public on Friday, December 5th, from 4pm to 7pm, providing early shoppers an opportunity to find unique gifts and enjoy the festive surroundings before the tour begins.

Ticket Information and Event Details

Tickets for the Holiday House Tour of Lewes are $50 per person and can be purchased online through December 5th or directly at the Lewes Historical Society.

Important details:

  • Ticket pick-up begins November 18th, Monday through Friday, from 10am to 3pm at the Lewes Historical Society’s main campus.
  • On the day of the event, tickets can be picked up starting at 8am at the same location.
  • The event is self-guided, allowing visitors to set their own pace.
  • Transportation is required, as the tour is not considered a walking tour.
  • All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
  • Each ticket includes access to all private homes, the DAR House, and the Holiday Village and Market. 
  • Visitors should bring their receipt to pick up the official guidebook, which serves as the pass for each location.
