Whether you're chasing a personal best, running for a great cause, or just looking for a fun way to stay active, Coastal Delaware has a race for you! 

From charity 5Ks and scenic beach runs to half marathons and end-of-year traditions, these upcoming events offer plenty of opportunities to lace up your running shoes and hit the course.

Rehoboth Beach Patrol 5K

There's something special about running through Rehoboth Beach before the crowds arrive, and this early morning race lets you do exactly that. 

Starting at the Bandstand, you'll follow a fast, flat out-and-back course along the Boardwalk and toward North Shores before heading back into town. 

The event benefits the Rehoboth Beach Patrol, making it a great way to support the lifeguards who help keep the beach safe all summer while enjoying one of the area's most iconic race routes.

Shuck Cancer 5K

This race is about much more than reaching the finish line. 

Every step helps support Fighting Pretty, a nonprofit that empowers women throughout their cancer journeys, making it an event built around community as much as competition. 

After the race, you're invited to stay at Big Oyster Brewery for snacks, refreshments, raffles, and an afterparty, giving you plenty of time to celebrate with friends and support a meaningful cause together.

Rehoboth Beach Firefightin’ 5K

One of Rehoboth Beach's longtime racing traditions, the Firefightin' 5K takes you on a flat course through town with stretches along the Boardwalk and ocean before finishing back at the fire station. 

The event benefits the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company and has a lively atmosphere that goes well beyond the race itself, with a kids dash, live music, games, refreshments, and awards following the finish. 

If you're looking for a community event that brings together runners, families, and local first responders, this is one you won't want to miss.

Run, White & Blue 5K Run/1M Walk

If you'd like to support a great cause while enjoying an evening race, the Run, White & Blue 5K is a great choice. 

Held on the Delaware Tech campus in Georgetown, this flat course benefits scholarships for veterans and first responders, and this year's event introduces a new RUCK division for anyone looking for an extra challenge. 

After crossing the finish line, you can stick around for refreshments, awards, and a post-race celebration with the community.

Walk 4 Prostate Cancer 1M Walk & 5K Run/Walk

Set against the scenic backdrop of Cape Henlopen State Park, this event gives you the chance to run or walk while supporting prostate cancer research and raising awareness for a disease that affects countless families. 

Hosted by Chief Meteorologist and prostate cancer survivor Paul Williams, the course follows a flat out-and-back route that's welcoming for both experienced runners and those simply looking to show their support. 

Afterward, you'll be invited to stay for the awards ceremony and post-race celebration.

Harvest Hustle 5K Run & 1K Fun Walk

The Harvest Hustle brings runners and walkers together for a morning at historic Fort Miles inside Cape Henlopen State Park. 

Whether you choose the 5K or the family-friendly 1K Fun Walk, you'll follow a flat course stretching toward Herring Point before returning to the finish. 

Every step helps support Village Volunteers and its mission of helping older adults remain independent in their own homes, making this a race that's as community focused as it is scenic.

Dogfish Dash

The Dogfish Dash has become one of Coastal Delaware's signature fall races, blending a fun atmosphere with a meaningful mission. 

Starting at Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, you'll run through town before celebrating at a lively post-race party featuring local partners, refreshments, and plenty of brewery energy. 

This event benefits the Sussex County Land Trust, and if you're feeling creative, don't miss the recycled costume contest, a longtime Dash tradition that adds even more personality to race day.

Mariners Bethel Trail 5K/10K Run & 1-2-3M Walk

This longtime community tradition offers something for every age and experience level, with a 10K, 5K, family walks, and a Kids Color Run all taking place at Camp Barnes. 

You'll follow scenic trails and quiet roads through the Assawoman Wildlife Refuge before returning to camp for the finish. 

The day doesn't end when you cross the line, though, as you're invited to stay for a homemade lunch, live bluegrass music, and family-friendly activities. 

Proceeds from the event benefit Mariners Bethel's children and youth ministries, making it a race that brings the community together for a meaningful cause.

Seawitch Fall Half Marathon Classic

If you're looking for a fall race with beautiful scenery, the Seawitch Fall Half Marathon is hard to beat. 

The course winds through Cape Henlopen State Park and stretches between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, giving you the chance to experience some of Coastal Delaware's most scenic roads and trails. 

As part of the Seawitch Racing Festival, runners are encouraged to wear costumes and embrace the Halloween spirit. 

The event also supports local charities throughout the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area, along with Toys for Tots.

Seawitch Fall 5K Classic

The Seawitch Racing Festival continues in Rehoboth Beach with a festive 5K and one-mile Fright Walk through North Rehoboth. 

Costumes are encouraged, and the morning includes a pre-race costume parade, contest, and a silent auction that supports a scholarship for a Cape Henlopen High School track and field athlete. 

The course itself is flat and welcoming for runners of all levels, making it easy to enjoy the fun atmosphere.

Nicola Pizza 5K Run/Walk

The Nicola Pizza 5K combines a fast course with one of the best post-race celebrations of the season. 

You'll run or walk through the Five Points area before returning to Nicola Pizza for refreshments, custom awards, and plenty of pizza-fueled fun. 

The event benefits the Warrior Weekend Program, supporting veterans while bringing the local running community together.

Tunnel 2 Towers 5K Run/Walk

The Tunnel to Towers 5K is more than a race, it's a chance to honor the sacrifice of first responders, military members, and everyone affected by the events of September 11, 2001. 

Held at Cape Henlopen State Park, the event welcomes both runners and walkers and begins with a ceremony of remembrance before the race starts.

Throughout the morning, the focus remains on community, service, and honoring those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others. 

Your participation also helps support Tunnel to Towers Foundation programs for first responders, veterans, and their families.

Huffin' for Pumpkin Pie 5K Run & 1M Walk

Work off some of the holiday weekend with a morning race through Rehoboth Beach that supports the local Toys for Tots program. 

You can take on the timed 5K or join the noncompetitive one-mile walk, making the event accessible for different ages and ability levels. 

The course is designed to be fast and flat, and awards are presented across overall, masters, and age group divisions for the 5K. 

Starting and finishing at Grove Park also puts you close to downtown Rehoboth Beach once the race is over.

Sea Colony Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

The Sea Colony Turkey Trot has brought runners and walkers together in Bethany Beach for more than two decades. 

You will follow a course through the Sea Colony community before returning to the Fitness Center for refreshments and the awards presentation. 

Net proceeds support Special Olympics Delaware and the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, helping local athletes and first responders.

Seashore Marathon & Half Marathon

The Rehoboth Seashore Marathon and Half Marathon gives you a full tour of the coastal landscape, with routes connecting Rehoboth Beach, Cape Henlopen State Park, Gordon’s Pond, and nearby trails. 

Both races begin at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, creating an early morning start beside the Boardwalk and ocean before the course moves through some of the area’s most recognizable natural settings. 

The event has a seven-hour limit for marathon runners, so you will need to maintain the required pace throughout the course. 

Proceeds benefit several local organizations, including Girls on the Run Delaware, Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park, the Seashore Striders Youth Cross Country Team, Delaware Kids Fund, and the Surfgimp Foundation.

Race Into the New Year 5K & Kids Dash

End the year with a noon race that begins on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and continues north toward Gordon’s Pond before returning to the Bandstand. 

Children age nine and younger can take part in a short dash just before the 5K, with runners gathering near the finish to cheer them on. 

The coastal route gives you one final opportunity to race through Rehoboth Beach before the calendar turns to a new year. Proceeds support local charities throughout the Cape Region.
