Tuesday Specials Return to Movies at Midway With Discounted Tickets & Weekly Deals

Movies at Midway has announced that its popular Tuesday Specials are back, bringing discounted ticket pricing and added concession perks to one of the region’s most beloved entertainment destinations.

The longtime family run theater in Rehoboth Beach is reintroducing this weekly deal to make moviegoing more accessible for residents and visitors who enjoy high quality screenings without premium pricing.

Tuesday Specials Bring Back Affordable Moviegoing

The return of Tuesday Specials gives guests a chance to enjoy new releases at a reduced rate each and every week.

Standard tickets are now available for eight dollars each Tuesday, while screenings in The Cube or in 3D are available for ten dollars.

These prices offer savings for families, casual moviegoers, and anyone looking for mid-week entertainment at a lower cost.

In addition to the discounted tickets, the theater usually offers a special concession item every Tuesday.

While exclusions can apply, the Tuesday program is designed to encourage community members to enjoy an affordable night out at a theater that has been part of Rehoboth Beach for generations.

A Theater With Deep Community History

Movies at Midway carries a long legacy in Coastal Delaware. The theater is operated by the Derrickson family, who have been involved in the region’s movie industry since 1941.

Over the decades, the family owned and operated twelve theaters throughout the area, including the Midway Drive in, which once accommodated six hundred cars.

The original Midway Palace opened in 1954 as a single screen venue with eight hundred and fifty seats.

As demand for entertainment grew, the Palace expanded to seven screens.

In 1998 the theater was demolished and rebuilt as the modern multiplex known today as Movies at Midway, featuring fourteen screens and updated amenities that reflect the evolution of the moviegoing experience.

In 2009 the theater transitioned fully from film to digital projection. Continued upgrades followed, culminating in the introduction of The Cube in 2017.

Each step of this evolution reflects the theater’s commitment to offering a high quality experience while maintaining its community centered roots.

The Cube: A Premium Format for Big Screen Fans

One of the most notable features at Movies at Midway is The Cubea premium large format auditorium designed for viewers who want the most immersive presentation available.

The Cube includes a fifty-eight-foot by twenty-four foot silver screen, a laser projector with high frame rate capability, and a Dolby Atmos sound system that delivers forty-seven audio channels through fifty-one speakers.

Luxury seating adds to the experience, making The Cube a standout feature for blockbuster releases, action films, and visually rich productions.

With Tuesday Specials pricing, guests can enjoy this premium format for just ten dollars, which is a meaningful value compared to typical ticket costs.

Movies at Midway Continues to Evolve

Movies at Midway may have a long history in Rehoboth Beach, but the theater definitely has not slowed down.

Over the years it has updated its screens, switched to digital and added The Cube, which remains one of the most impressive places to watch a movie in the region.

That ongoing effort to improve the experience is a big part of why locals keep coming back. Tuesday Specials fit right into that approach.

They make moviegoing easier on the wallet, give families and regulars another reason to stop by, and keep the theater connected to the community it has served for decades.
