On Thursday, April 24th, from noon to 8:30 p.m., Henlopen City Oyster House will host the ninth edition of Dining Out with Miriam, an event that donates a portion of the restaurant’s sales to their meaningful cause.

Fifteen percent of all proceeds will go directly to Miriam’s Table, a nutrition center that provides daily meals to children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

About Miriam’s Table

Founded in 2014 by Lewes residents Ed and Susie Keefer, Miriam’s Table began with a mission to help children suffering from malnutrition.

What started with 65 children quickly grew to over 350 young children receiving a healthy meal every day just from this Delaware based nonprofit’s efforts alone.

Just $0.69 funds one meal for a child, and $179 can feed a child for an entire year, making the proceeds from this event to be extremely impactful for the organization’s intention.

The nonprofit was inspired by Susie’s personal experience in Mpasa, where she met a young girl named Miriam during a mission trip.

Their bond was so strong that Susie and Ed later adopted Miriam, and her story became the heart of the initiative.
