Each spring, Lewes, Delaware bursts into color during the Lewes Tulip Celebration, returning for its 16th year from April 1 through April 20, 2025.
Organized by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom, this beloved event pays tribute to the town’s Dutch heritage with vibrant floral displays, walking tours, and community-centered activities.
Explore 31,000 Tulips Across Town
The heart of the celebration lies in the thousands of tulips that bloom across Lewes each April.
This year, visitors can admire over 31,000 tulips and 5,000 additional spring bulbs planted in more than 20 public locations throughout the town.
While tulip bloom timing can be affected by weather, the celebration is designed to span three weekends, offering plenty of opportunities to take in the beauty.
To help visitors explore the displays, event organizers have created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map, which will be available in late March.
You can pick up the map at:
- Lewes Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, located in the historic Fisher-Martin House at Zwaanendael Park (open Monday–Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
- Brochure boxes throughout the downtown historic commercial district
- The map & the schedule of events can also be found electronically here.
