From April 23rd to 27th, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, in collaboration with Seaside Jewish Community, is hosting the 10th Annual Rehoboth Beach Jewish Film Festival.
The event will take place at the Rehoboth Beach Film Society (RBFS) Cinema Art Theater, located at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Lewes.
A Diverse and Meaningful Film Lineup
The festival features 18 films, including documentaries, narrative features, foreign films, and shorts. Audiences can expect a range of genres, from powerful dramas to lighthearted comedies with the spotlight on the Jewish culture and viewpoint.
The films aim to deepen awareness of Jewish culture and history while exploring themes of community, difference, and connection.
In addition to the screenings, several films will be followed by guest speakers and discussions, encouraging reflection and conversation.
Besides American films, several foreign viewpoints are represented alongside Jewish films at this year’s festival, with cinema art works from other countries including Germany, Israel, France, Finland, and others!
Cultural Impact and Community Support
“Judaism is more than a religion; it is also a vibrant culture,” said Rabbi Julie Hilton Danan of Seaside Jewish Community. “Cinema and the arts are a wonderful way to learn about Jewish history and society. I think it’s great that Rehoboth has this annual Jewish Film Festival that can be of interest to people of all backgrounds.”
Dave Bever, executive director of RBFS, added, “The RBFS is proud to amplify all the voices in our coastal community through film. This year’s Jewish Film Festival promises to be something very special.”
