Through his weekly YouTube videos, newsletters, and eBlasts, he shows a true generosity of spirit, sharing such intim… ate knowledge of the pulse of Coastal Delaware that, if you follow him, you become a ‘local’ quite quickly.
We have benefitted from Matt's YouTube Videos since 2022, and reached out in 2023 to establish a conversation about retirement from New York City to Lower Slower Delaware and purchasing a home. He has always been kind and warm, knowledgeable, and so easy to talk to.
Through his channel, he taught us how to think about retiring, how to think about the timing, what it feels like living in each area of Coastal Delaware. He drives us around neighborhoods to get the look and feel of streets and different home developments, and he supplements those videos with priceless explainers of who the best builders are and why, which cities have the best infrastructure, and how to get the best deal on a home. He also teaches about the real estate market generally, interest rates, market trends, both nationally and Coastal Delaware specifically.
We had a five year plan in place, but then we retired rather suddenly (and happily), so we slid in to a manufactured housing situation through a friend, just as a landing pad, to see where we might want to live permanently, how much space we needed, and what our finances were going to look like.
When it was time to start looking seriously for a stick-built home, I saw a few properties and emailed Matt. He wrote back just like a family member, remembering our first conversation of years ago, and picked up right where we left off.
He began proactively looking for homes for us, listened to what we had found, he was gentle in guiding us away from naïve choices in the reality of what older homes might be hiding, and the quirks of certain subdivisions, and was encouraging with the best of our thoughtful choices.
When you go out to appointments with Matt, it feels like he's worked with everyone in the real estate business down here, and each person we run in to has nothing but praise for him, his team, his work ethics, and his cheerful demeanor.
Matt was right by our side through our decision, through the punch list and final walk-throughs of the home, and right there at settlement. He is one of the most responsive persons I’ve ever dealt with, always timely in responding to communications, and we feel like his years as a golf pro bring a calm and reassuring presence that makes you feel like you’ve got a good and trusted friend in your corner who has your back, and who just wants what’s best for you.
His Executive Assistant and Transaction Coordinator Gabby then comes in to the picture as you’re reaching settlement, and she takes care of every little and all the big things, and ties the transaction up in a big beautiful bow.
