Dough Hook

Dough Hook officially opened its Bethany Beach location in late June, bringing one of Common Ground Hospitality Group's newest concepts to Coastal Delaware. 

Built around the idea of simple, high-quality food in a welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant is all about creating a place where people can stop in for a quick slice, split a sub with friends, or grab a cheesesteak without any fuss. 

The menu features pizza by the slice, sandwiches, subs, and steaks, making it an easy choice whether you're looking for lunch, dinner, or something after the beach. 

Judging by the opening day, locals were more than ready to make Dough Hook part of the neighborhood.

Claire Howard Fine Art & Studio

Renowned artist Claire Howard celebrated the grand opening of her new Bethany Beach studio with a ribbon cutting in June, giving visitors a dedicated place to experience her work up close. 

A graduate of Villanova University with additional studies in art, architecture, and design, Claire has built a reputation for her richly textured oil paintings, created entirely with a palette knife. 

Her coastal landscapes, peaceful seascapes, dramatic skies, and winter scenes have earned national recognition, multiple awards, and publication in major magazines. 

Inspired by the natural beauty around her, she often captures fleeting moments of light that become the foundation for her paintings. 

The new studio showcases her artwork while also offering commissioned pieces inspired by Bethany Beach and the surrounding coastal communities.

Three Notch'd Brewery & Craft Kitchen

Three Notch'd Brewery & Craft Kitchen officially celebrated its arrival in Rehoboth Beach with a grand opening that included a ribbon cutting, a community toast, happy hour, and the opportunity for guests to sign the brewery's Founding Locals barrel head. 

The new location brews its craft beer on site, offering rotating taps that range from crisp lagers to hop-forward IPAs alongside seasonal releases and longtime favorites. 

Beyond the beer, the kitchen serves elevated pub fare with burgers, shareable appetizers, fresh salads, and hearty entrees designed for everything from casual lunches to post-beach dinners. 

A full bar with craft cocktails and wine, spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and menu options for a variety of dietary preferences make it a really versatile gathering spot.

Art In Glass

After more than four decades creating custom stained glass, Art In Glass has officially had its soft opening in its new Dagsboro studio. 

The full-service glass studio specializes in one-of-a-kind stained-glass windows, wall art, sculptures, jewelry, gifts, and fused glass creations, while also designing custom pieces for homes, businesses, churches, skylights, cabinet inserts, and doors. 

Their work ranges from traditional leaded and copper-foiled glass to painted, fired, and sandblasted designs, with each project tailored to the client's vision. 

The new location gives visitors the opportunity to browse handcrafted artwork while meeting the artists behind pieces that have been shipped to customers around the world.

Fells Point Surf Collective

Fells Point Surf Collective has officially expanded to Dagsboro, adding another location to the locally owned surf boutique that first opened in Baltimore in 2003. 

Inspired by a love for beach life, surfing, and coastal living, the shop offers a carefully curated mix of surf apparel, accessories, and lifestyle brands alongside emerging fashion labels. 

What began as one owner's dream of bringing the beach a little closer to home has grown into a business with a loyal following and stores across Maryland and Coastal Delaware, all centered around creating a welcoming community with laid-back beach vibes.

Freeman Arts Pavilion

Freeman Arts Pavilion celebrated the grand reopening of its transformed Selbyville campus this summer, marking the completion of a major multi-phase expansion. 

The five-acre open-air venue welcomes more than 100,000 guests each year with a lineup of over 70 concerts, theatrical performances, comedy shows, cultural celebrations, dance productions, tribute acts, and family-friendly events. 

Along with expanded seating, the project introduced upgraded sound and lighting systems, improved artist facilities, and numerous guest-focused enhancements throughout the campus. 

Visitors can also enjoy food trucks, The Canteen, local craft beer, cocktails, and plenty of space to relax before performances, making the venue much more than just a place to catch a show.

Birdhouse Rotisserie Kitchen & Market

Birdhouse Rotisserie Kitchen & Market has quickly become one of Milton's newest food destinations after opening its market in early May and launching dinner service later that month.

The market features local produce, thoughtfully selected pantry staples, prepared foods, specialty products, and unique brands that are hard to find elsewhere, giving shoppers a fresh alternative to a traditional grocery stop. 

The restaurant complements the market with rotisserie chicken, soups, salads, sandwiches, seasonal sides, and simple meals made with quality ingredients. 

Since opening, the Birdhouse team has shared how rewarding it has been to see the community embrace the space, discover new products, and make it part of their everyday routine.

Cape Deli

Cape Deli officially opened in Lewes, adding a new takeout deli with the kind of easy, beach-town convenience people will appreciate all summer. 

The menu includes Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, sandwiches, salads, pastries, desserts, coffee, sides, breakfast options, bakery items, and fresh homemade breads made in house or by local favorite Liscio’s Bakery. 

It is mainly set up for takeout, but there are picnic tables out front if you want to sit down and eat, plus on-site parking and a drive-through, which is a major bonus in Lewes once the season gets busy. 

Down By Delaware already checked it out and called it a possible go-to grab-and-go stop before Cape Henlopen State Park or Lewes Beach. 

Their review highlighted the Lewes sandwich for its classic East Coast Italian sub feel, with plenty of meat, flavor, and old-school deli energy instead of a skimpy beach sub situation. 

Between the sandwiches, sweets, breakfast items, coffee, parking, drive-through, and quick takeout setup, Cape Deli already feels like a useful new Lewes stop for lunch, beach days, and casual summer errands.

Sipped Away Coffee opened its window in Lewes, turning one local entrepreneur's dream into reality. 

Owner Lauren wears just about every hat in the business, from barista and artist to social media manager, with one simple goal: serving great drinks while creating genuine connections with every customer who stops by. 

Whether you want that morning coffee or a refreshing drink after a day at the beach, Sipped Away is meant to be a friendly neighborhood stop where everyone feels welcome. 

Opening day brought a great turnout from the community, and the shop is celebrating all weekend with a giveaway for customers who stop in for a drink.

Wilde Coffee Company

Wilde Coffee Company officially celebrated its ribbon cutting in June, giving its mobile coffee business a permanent home base at the farm.

The café trailer serves handcrafted coffee in a relaxed setting while staying true to the company's small-business roots. 

Beyond great drinks, Wilde Coffee also has a mission that extends beyond the coffee cup by donating one percent of its net profits to Rising Kites, a nonprofit supporting families impacted by Down syndrome. 

It's a business built around community, family, and giving back, making every cup part of something bigger.

Roll’n Egg

Roll'n Egg began serving Lewes in early May, bringing its signature egg sandwiches to Savannah Road. 

Run as a one-woman operation, every sandwich is made fresh to order using the shop's signature egg soufflé and carefully prepared with consistency and quality in mind. 

The menu may be simple, but the goal is not: creating breakfast sandwiches that make people smile with every bite. 

Since opening, the new spot has been embraced by the community, with the food truck sharing their appreciation on social media for everyone who helped spread the word.

New Sushi Restaurant

A new sushi restaurant appears to be on the way to the Forgotten Mile in Rehoboth Beach, taking over the former Just in Thyme location. 

While an official concept and opening date have not been announced, the property changed hands in 2024, and reports indicate the buyer is an experienced Maryland restaurateur planning to bring a fresh sushi concept to this stretch of Route 1. 

With the space sitting between Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach, it is another project worth keeping an eye on as more details are released.

Delaware Retiree & Dedicated Financial

Delaware Retiree and Dedicated Financial opened their new shared community space in Lewes with a weeklong celebration in early June that went far beyond a traditional ribbon cutting. 

The grand opening featured wellness events, educational sessions, nonprofit showcases, adoptable dogs, and a wine and cheese reception, all designed to bring people together. 

The space combines the missions of both organizations under one roof. 

Delaware Retiree serves as a local resource connecting retirees with articles, events, businesses, and services throughout Southern Delaware, while Dedicated Financial provides retirement planning, investment management, and comprehensive financial planning to help clients prepare for every stage of retirement.

Beebe Gastroenterology 

Beebe Healthcare has officially reopened its gastroenterology office in Millville, expanding access to specialized digestive care for residents south of the Indian River Inlet. 

The newly renovated office includes three treatment rooms and is led by physician associate Brianna Brancato, who treats adults with a wide range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. 

The practice offers everything from patient exams and diagnoses to treatment planning, testing, and prescription management. 

During the ribbon cutting, Beebe Healthcare leaders highlighted the importance of expanding access to preventive care, emphasizing services such as colon cancer screening, digestive disease treatment, and overall gut health for the growing local population.
