The City of Lewes has officially declared May 3rd as Historic Lewes Farmers Market Day, marking the start of the beloved market’s 20th season.
A Community Tradition Continues
Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) will open its 2025 season at George H.P. Smith Park.
For two decades, HLFM has connected the community with fresh, local food while supporting small farms and promoting sustainable agriculture.
This season promises to be extra special, as HLFM rolls out a variety of celebratory offerings:
- Special event days throughout the season
- New anniversary T-shirts for both kids and adults
- Collaborations with local chefs and restaurants
- Plein air artists featured at Saturday markets
- Commemorative 20th anniversary tote bags
Support the Market, Show Your Pride
To help spread the word and celebrate the milestone, HLFM invites residents to display yard signs featuring the season’s theme: “Eat Fresh, Stay Rooted, Love Local.”
Signs are available by:
- Phone: 302-644-1436
- Email: [email protected]
Farm Dinner Fundraiser at Lewes Oyster House
As part of the celebration, the Lewes Oyster House will host a special farm dinner on Sunday, May 18.
This event will feature dishes made with ingredients sourced from HLFM farmers.
Proceeds will benefit HLFM’s mission to purchase produce from local small farms and distribute it to families in need across Southern Delaware.
