What to Expect When You Go
The Freeman Arts Pavilion is a 5-acre outdoor space in Selbyville where people can enjoy relaxed, open-air shows.
It has more than 70 events from May to September, and every year more than 100,000 people come to see everything from live music to theater and cultural events.
The programming really covers a lot of ground.
There will be a mix of national recording artists, local and regional talent, dance, comedy, tribute acts, and family-friendly shows, so it's easy to find something that fits your mood.
The way it is set up is part of what makes it so easy to go out.
Most shows take place on the Grand Green, the main lawn seating area, while the Lower Lawn gives you space to hang out before the show.
There are food options at The Canteen, plus local food trucks, and drinks are available at the Beer Garden and multiple bars across the venue.

A Grand Opening Season With More to Come
This season isn't just another set of shows. It marks the grand opening of the Freeman Arts Pavilion, which is part of a larger, multi-phase renovation that will change the venue in the long term.
Plans for the next phases include more seating, better sound and lighting technology, better amenities for artists, and more upgrades that focus on guests throughout the space.
This summer already has a full schedule of events, but it's also the start of a bigger plan for live entertainment in Coastal Delaware.
The Mission Behind the Pavilion
Freeman Arts Pavilion is part of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, a nonprofit established in 2007 to honor the legacy of Josh Freeman.
The foundation's programs, such as Freeman Arts and the Arts Access Initiative, reach more than 140,000 people every year.
One of the main goals is to make the arts available to everyone.
The Arts Access Initiative gives K–12 students, their families, and community partners in Delmarva free access to arts events all year long.
That includes live music, dance, comedy, and other performances held at the pavilion during the summer, as well as events hosted at schools and community centers throughout the year.
The venue can hold almost 4,000 people at a time, so it is a key place for both big shows and events that are run by the community.
