The company has been a local staple since the 1960s, starting as a small boardwalk stand before expanding across the region.

Iron Hill

There’s finally movement on the future of Iron Hill in Rehoboth Beach.

After the entire chain abruptly shut down earlier this year and filed for liquidation bankruptcy, a major update has emerged: former Famous Dave’s CEO Jeff Crivello has received court approval to acquire 10 closed Iron Hill locations, including the Rehoboth Beach spot.

His $12 million credit bid was approved in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, giving him control of several Mid-Atlantic locations and two in South Carolina.

While a few of these restaurants may eventually reopen as Iron Hill, Crivello is also exploring new concepts for some of the properties, including bringing Three Notch’d Brewing Co. to Rehoboth Beach and the South Carolina sites.

This acquisition could signal a second life for the long-loved brewpub space on Coastal Highway, though details about the reopening timeline are still unclear.

For now, Rehoboth’s location remains closed, but it’s officially back in the hands of new ownership with plans developing behind the scenes.

  • Reopening TBD
  • Address: 19815 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach
