Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach is about to turn up the volume on female empowerment with Lilith Fest, a tribute event celebrating women in music.

Scheduled for Friday, May 16th, this festival honors the legacy of Lilith Fair, the groundbreaking 1990s tour that spotlighted female artists.

In the '90s, radio stations often hesitated to play two songs by women consecutively.

In response, artist Sarah McLachlan launched Lilith Fair, featuring powerhouse performers like Tracy Chapman, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, and Fiona Apple to have women continue breaking through in the music industry.

The festival not only broke barriers, but also raised over $10 million for charity, leaving a lasting impact on attendees.

The Mission Behind Lilith Fest

While today’s charts boast many successful female artists, the journey for women in music is ongoing.

Cathy DiToro, musician and founder of Project HERA, emphasizes the need for supportive spaces for women.

Project HERA began with open mic nights and evolved into a nonprofit aimed at empowering women in the music scene.

"Despite progress, it can still be hard for some women to find spaces where they feel supported creatively," says DiToro.

What to Expect at Dewey’s Lilith Fest

Now, Lilith Fest is carrying that legacy forward with a 2+ hour concert at Bottle & Cork, featuring an all-female lineup of more than 20 performers and an all-female backing band.

They’ll be covering songs by the original Lilith Fair legends, including Alanis Morissette, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Liz Phair, and more, all in a high-energy tribute that celebrates the power and presence of women in music.

Presented by Project HERA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting, celebrating, and empowering women and girls in music, this inspiring event promises to “lift you up and take you where you want to be,” as the great Sheryl Crow says.

Lilith Fest offers a unique experience:

  • Local and regional performers covering songs from the original Lilith Fair lineups
  • Delaware’s own Olivia Rubini performing, known for her powerful covers and appearance on NBC's The Voice.
  • Performances by Cathy DiToro and LauraLea, both familiar names to regular Dewey Beach music fans
  • Date and time: Friday, May 16th | 8:30PM - 11:30PM
  • Cost: $20

With two successful Lilith Fests already held in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., DiToro is excited to bring the magic to Coastal Delaware.

“There’s a tangible feeling,” she shares. “Having all these women together and singing together for the first time—it’s a really magical experience.”
