Lewes is welcoming the vibrant colors of spring with its 16th Annual Tulip Celebration, held from April 1-20.

This highly anticipated event, co-hosted by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom, promises a stunning display of over 100 tulip varieties, transforming the town into a blooming masterpiece.

What’s New This Year?

The event is a beloved tradition, and this year, Lewes in Bloom has taken the celebration to new heights by funding the planting of 31,000 tulip bulbs and 5,000 other spring bulbs in the fall of last year.

These were planted by dedicated volunteers, and will showcase a dazzling array of colors across Lewes’ historic district.

While tulip blooms are affected by weather conditions, it is expected that peak bloom will occur between April 10th and April 17th, because of the colder-than-usual winter.

The event spans three weekends, allowing visitors to experience the flowers at different stages of bloom, making it an ever-changing spectacle.

Tiptoe To The Tulips

To fully enjoy the celebration, grab a copy of the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map, available at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and throughout the historic district.

The map highlights over 20 locations where the tulips have been planted, and it includes a schedule of tulip-related activities.

It’s the perfect guide to ensure you don’t miss any of the beauty Lewes has to offer.
