Celebrate Oktoberfest 2025 in Coastal Delaware with Beer, Food, and Festivals (Part 2)

In Part 1 of our Oktoberfest guide, we explored Crooktoberfest, Iron Hill’s celebration, and ThompsonFest. 

Now, in Part 2, we’re continuing the tour with Southern Delaware Brewing’s Oktoberfest Beer Dinner, the debut of OktoBearFest in Milton, and the community favorite Bankstoberfest in Millville.

Oktoberfest Beer Dinner

On Thursday, September 25th, Southern Delaware Brewing Co. in Ocean View is hosting its annual Oktoberfest Beer Dinner, a four-course culinary celebration that pairs authentic German-inspired dishes with expertly crafted seasonal brews. 

For 2 hours, guests can savor a thoughtfully designed menu by Executive Chef, Maggie Williamson, and Pastry Chef, Dru Tevis, with each course paired with a beverage by Head Brewer, Taylor Smith.

The Menu

First Course – Krautstrudel

Beer-braised red cabbage, crispy bacon lardons, and caraway seeds wrapped in puff pastry, finished with horseradish-dill cream. Paired with a refreshing Belgian Ale.

Second Course – Kartoffelpuffer

Crispy potato pancakes with local apple compote, crème fraîche, smoked salmon caviar, and chives. Served with Falling but Floating Dark Czech Lager.

Third Course – Beef Rouladen

German mustard, house gherkins, caramelized onions, herbed spaetzle, krautsalat, and beef au jus. Perfectly matched with OceanFest Märzen.

Dessert Course – Apple Butter Cake

Layered with pumpkin ganache, brown butter cheesecake cream, pie dough crumb, salted caramel, and pepita crunch. Finished with Boo Ya! Pumpkin Pie Ale.

OktoBearFest 

Get ready to raise a stein and celebrate fall at Delaware’s most bear-tastic Oktoberfest celebration! 

On Saturday, October 4th, Brimming Horn Meadery in Milton will host the first-ever OktoBearFest, bringing together German-inspired brews, hearty bites, and lively entertainment for one unforgettable day.

Guests can savor refreshing German-style lagers, crisp Hefeweizens, seasonal meads, and ciders while indulging in traditional German favorites like bratwurst, schnitzel, and pretzels. 

Live polka music from the Polka Terps (5-8pm) will set the festive tone, with games, dancing, and plenty of surprises throughout the day.

Bankstoberfest

On Saturday, October 11th, from 1 to 5pm, the Millville Fire Dept Station 1 will transform into Sussex County’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration with the return of the 4th Annual Bankstoberfest. 

This lively afternoon brings together the best of beer, brats, and community spirit in true coastal Delaware style.

Guests can enjoy over 60 craft beers, from local favorites to international classics, paired perfectly with savory bites from food trucks while live music from the Dustin Showers Band sets the stage. 

Between stein-hoisting contests, casual and competitive lawn games, and a spirited costume competition (lederhosen encouraged!), there’s no shortage of festive fun for all.
