The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is once again offering families a chance to combine a scenic cruise with a visit to the Cape May County Park and Zoo

The excursion package, available on select Mondays this fall, includes round-trip foot passage on the ferry, shuttle transportation, and admission to the zoo.

Dates for the excursion are September 8th, September 22nd, and October 6th, 2025.

Departing from Lewes at 8:45am, the ferry will arrive in Cape May, where guests board a shuttle directly to the zoo. The return trip departs Cape May at 6pm, bringing passengers back to Lewes at around 7:25pm.

Tickets are priced at $30 for ages 14 and older, $17 for children ages 6 to 13, and $12 for any children under 6.

Shuttle seating is limited to 32 passengers, making early reservations essential. Handicap-accessible options are available with advance notice given.

With more than 550 animals representing over 250 species, the Cape May County Park and Zoo offers a full day of exploration in a scenic setting complete with gardens, picnic areas, and playgrounds for all to enjoy.

Ferry officials expect strong interest, noting the zoo’s reputation as one of the region’s top family attractions.

Cape May Beaches

Fall is one of the best times to experience Cape May’s shoreline. Waters remain warm, while crowds thin out, offering a peaceful beach day.

Visitors can stop by Beach Road for quick access, explore Sunset Beach with its famous partially sunken concrete ship, or search for Cape May Diamonds.

Higbee Beach, though a bit harder to find, rewards visitors with the best views of the ferry itself.

Washington Street Mall

Located in the heart of Cape May, the Washington Street Mall features more than 60 shops and 20 restaurants.

It is a year-round destination for shopping, dining, or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere.

Many visitors return multiple times, discovering something new with every trip.

Historic Cold Spring Village

This 30-acre site brings 19th-century life to the modern day with 27 restored buildings, costumed interpreters, and demonstrations of traditional crafts.

Families can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, farm animals, and special weekend events throughout the summer.

The Cold Spring Village also includes a bakery, ice cream parlor, brewery, and restaurant.

Cape May Lighthouse

One of Cape May’s most recognizable landmarks, the lighthouse invites visitors to climb its 199 steps for panoramic views that extend across the Delaware Bay and to Cape Henlopen on clear days.

Over 2.5 million people have made the climb, making it a must-see attraction.
