Delaware pet owners, mark your calendars! Humane Animal Partners (HAP) is hosting a free spay/neuter day for cats in Sussex County, along with several other events throughout 2025

These initiatives aim to support pet health and wellness while making essential veterinary care more accessible to local residents.

Free Spay/Neuter Day for Cats in Sussex County

Cat owners in Sussex County can take advantage of a free spay/neuter day on March 24 at HAP Rehoboth (18675 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth). Supported by a $50,000 grant from the Delaware General Assembly, this clinic will also offer free rabies vaccinations if needed.

Important details:

  • Available only for county-owned cats (community and stray cats are not eligible).
  • Limited spots available—owners must call (302) 200-7159 as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.

$20 Vaccine Clinic in Georgetown

For those unable to attend the spay/neuter event, HAP is also holding a $20 vaccine clinic on March 20 at the Cheer Community Center in Georgetown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This low-cost clinic provides vaccines, microchips, and flea/tick preventatives on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration is required.

HAP continues to offer affordable vaccination clinics across its three locations in Stanton/Christiana, Wilmington, and Rehoboth. These clinics provide discounted services with no exam fee, and all services are first come, first served—no appointment needed.

  • Rabies vaccine – $25
  • DHPP (canine distemper) – $25
  • Leptospirosis vaccine – $25
  • DHLPP (canine distemper + leptospirosis) – $30
  • FVRCP (feline distemper) – $25
  • Bordetella (kennel cough) – $25
  • Microchip (with free registration) – $25
  • General dewormer – $10 (includes two doses)
  • Provecta flea and tick prevention – $25

Clinic Rules & Requirements:

  • Owners must bring a form of ID and their pet’s most recent vaccine history.
  • Dogs must be on a short leash (no retractable leashes) and muzzled if needed.
  • Cats must be in secure, hard-sided carriers.
  • Cash or card payments are due at the time of service
