The day includes old-fashioned children’s games on Second Street, the Independence Day Boat Parade from Roosevelt Inlet to Fisherman’s Wharf, patriotic boat judging, and an awards ceremony at the Lightship Overfalls.
Later in the day, the Doo-Dah Parade brings one of Lewes’ funniest and most unpredictable holiday traditions back through town, with everyone invited to join and no preregistration required.
The celebration ends with the Go Fourth Lewes fireworks at dusk from a barge off Lewes Beach, so plan to arrive early, stay hydrated, and walk or bike if possible since large crowds and traffic delays are expected.
