From community 5Ks supporting local causes to festive holiday runs and scenic summer races near the beach, the region keeps the momentum going through late spring, summer, and into early fall.
This second part of our 2026 race guide highlights additional events taking place in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach from May through September. Check it out:
8th DQ Dash for Fireworks 5K & 1M Fun Walk
The 8th annual DQ Dash 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk invites participants to run or walk in support of the Lewes Go Fourth! Fireworks Fundraiser, an initiative dedicated to bringing safe and legal Fourth of July fireworks back to Lewes Beach.
Organized through a collaboration between community volunteers, the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Lewes, the event helps fund the fireworks display that caps off Lewes’ Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration, which also includes games on Second Street, a boat parade along the canal, and the beloved Lewes Doo Dah Parade.
Hosted by Dairy Queen of Lewes and produced by Seashore Strider Event Production, the race features a fast and flat course with water stops at the start, finish, and midway point.
Participants receive short-sleeve race shirts and compete for custom awards presented to overall winners, masters divisions, and the top three finishers across ten age groups ranging from youth runners to competitors aged 80 and over.

36th Father's Day 5K Run
The Father’s Day 5K Run is one of the longest-running road races in Rehoboth Beach, now celebrating its 36th year as part of the Seashore Strider Championship Series.
The race raises funds each year for the Seashore Strider Youth Cross Country Team, supporting the development of young runners in the community, while also contributing a donation to the Cape Henlopen Food Basket.
The flat and fast loop course begins near the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand and follows an out and back route from Rehoboth Avenue toward North Shores, turning around near the entrance to Gordon’s Pond before returning to the finish.
Participants are timed using the Chronotrack B Chip system and can compete for custom awards presented to overall champions, master runners, and the top three finishers in sixteen age categories.
The event concludes with a post-race celebration featuring refreshments and a gathering at Tiki Jac’s.

22nd Jungle Jim’s 5K Splash
The Jungle Jim’s 5K Splash is one of the most popular summer 5Ks in the Seashore Strider Championship Series.
The race begins inside Jungle Jim’s Water Park and heads out through the Country Club of Rehoboth Beach neighborhood on a flat and fast out-and-back course before finishing back inside the water park.
Proceeds from the event support the Children’s Beach House of Lewes.
After crossing the finish line, participants can take part in a post-race celebration featuring custom awards, race shirts, and access to the water park’s lazy river and select rides during a special early opening window for runners.
The event also features awards for overall champions, masters divisions, and top finishers across sixteen age groups.

7th Beebe Heroes 5K Run & 5K Walk
The Beebe Heroes 5K Run and 5K Walk is one of the largest races held in Lewes and serves as a major fundraiser for the Beebe Medical Foundation.
Hosted in partnership with Irish Eyes Pub and Seashore Striders, the event welcomes both runners and walkers to participate in a community-focused race supporting healthcare initiatives in the region.
The race follows a flat and fast out-and-back course through Lewes just east of the canal.
Participants compete for awards across sixteen age divisions along with masters and overall categories, and walkers are also recognized with awards for the top male and female finishers.
The event also includes family-friendly activities such as a Kiddie Dash with finisher medals, face painting, and balloon artists, followed by a lively post-race celebration at Irish Eyes.

36th Firecracker 5K Run & 5K Walk
The Firecracker 5K Run and 5K Walk is one of the oldest races in Rehoboth Beach and continues as a staple of the Seashore Strider Championship Series.
Held in cooperation with the Cape Gazette, the event supports local charities as well as individuals and families in need, giving participants a chance to race & give back while doing it for a meaningful local cause during the 4th of July holiday.
The course is flat and fast, taking runners and walkers through the North Shores area of Rehoboth Beach just north of the avenue.
The event includes Chronotrack B Chip timing by Seashore Strider Event Production, custom awards, and custom-printed towels instead of race shirts.
Awards are presented to overall male and female champions, overall male and female masters, and the top three male and female finishers in sixteen age groups, while the walk division recognizes the top five male and female participants with medals.

44th Seashore 5 Miler
The Seashore 5 Miler is one of the oldest 5-mile races in the area and in Delaware, with a long history that began as the YMCA 5 Miler before later becoming the Henlopen 5 Miler and eventually the Seashore 5 Miler.
As the ninth event in the Seashore Strider Championship Series, it also serves as the second of the two 5-mile races used for series qualification.
The race benefits local charities and families in need across the Cape Region.
This edition starts from Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach, the same area associated with other well-known local races such as the Firecracker 5K, Sea Witch 5K, and Pumpkin Pie 5K.
The course details and map are available through Seashore Striders, and timing is handled with the Chronotrack B Chip system.
Participants receive custom-printed T-shirts and compete for custom awards presented to overall champions, masters divisions, and the top three male and female finishers across sixteen age categories ranging from age 9 and under through 80+.

12th RBVFC Fire Fightin’ 5K Run/Walk
The RBVFC Fire Fightin’ 5K Run and Walk brings participants through Rehoboth Beach on a flat and fast course that starts and finishes at the fire station while also taking in the boardwalk and ocean.
Benefiting the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company, the race combines a scenic route with a strong community focus and supports an important local organization.
Produced by Seashore Strider Event Production, the event features Chronotrack B Chip timing, custom T-shirts, custom awards, live music, games, door prizes, post-race refreshments, and a Kids Dash before the main race.
Awards are presented to overall male and female champions, overall masters, and the top three male and female finishers across youth categories, standard age groups, and five-year divisions through age 80 and over.
There is also a special Fire Fightin’ Gear division that awards medals to the top five finishers racing in firefighter gear.

3rd Harvest Hustle 5K Run & 1K "Fun" Walk
The Harvest Hustle 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk is a community-focused event held with Village Volunteers at Cape Henlopen State Park.
The race starts and finishes at Fort Miles and follows a flat and fast route toward Herring Point and Rehoboth Beach before returning to the finish.
The 1K walk covers just over half a mile and turns around at the halfway mark, giving both runners and walkers an accessible way to participate.
The event supports Village Volunteers and its mission of helping older adults remain in their homes independently for as long as possible.
Produced by Seashore Strider Event Production, the race includes Chronotrack B Chip timing, custom T-shirts, custom awards, and post-race refreshments.
Awards are presented in the 5K to overall male and female champions, overall masters, and the top three male and female finishers in youth divisions, the 20 to 29 group, and then ten-year age groups through age 70 and over.
The 1K walk is a non-award event focused only on participation and community support.
