From better health and grocery access to faster emergency response, Coastal Delaware is seeing exciting growth this spring. 

Three major openings, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a large new grocery store, and a new paramedic station, promise to enhance everyday life in the Coastal Delaware area.

CustomFit 360 Launches New Facility in Millville

The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated the grand opening of CustomFit 360’s newest location with a ribbon-cutting on April 14th. 

The 8,000-square-foot facility is equipped with top-tier equipment and is designed to help individuals “move better, feel stronger, and live healthier.”

Sugar & Thread Brings Style and Brews to Rehoboth Beach

Local sisters Dru and Reagan Buehler have opened Sugar & Thread, a unique fashion café that combines boutique shopping with a cozy coffee shop atmosphere.

The downtown location opened April 11th at 18 Rehoboth Ave., featuring hand-selected goods from independent creators, as well as breakfast, lunch, and seasonal sweet treats.

  • Boutique goods include clothing and accessories from small entrepreneurs
  • Menu created by Reagan Buehler offers simple, delicious breakfast and lunch options
  • A second location is opening soon at Tanger Outlets Seaside with a stronger retail focus

Right Balance Pilates Opens Studio in Lewes

Right Balance Pilates held a grand opening and ribbon cutting on April 2nd at its new location in the Five Points Square Shopping Center.

  • Offers chair, tower, mixed equipment, mat, and reformer Pilates classes
  • Founded in 2016 by certified instructor Carin Langen, who has over 20 years of experience

Weis Markets Expands Presence in Millsboro

Weis Markets is adding a second location in Millsboro with a massive 65,000-square-foot store in the Town Center area, near PetSmart and BJ’s Warehouse

This expansion reflects the company's regional growth strategy and aims to serve the area’s increasing population and seasonal traffic.

  • This will be the second Weis Markets in Millsboro, joining existing locations in Lewes and Millville
  • Location: 26676 Centerview Drive, Millsboro

Weis Markets has been expanding aggressively, with 12 major development projects in 2024 alone. The new Millsboro store adds to its growing network of more than 200 stores nationwide. 

The store has not announced a target opening date, but would be the second location of Weis markets in Millsboro.

Sussex County Boosts Emergency Services with New Paramedic Station

On April 28th, Sussex County officials held a ribbon-cutting for the new Medic 103 Station on Dickerson Road in Millsboro

The new station is already making a positive impact by improving response times in the area.

  • Paramedic crews now serve Millsboro, Dagsboro, and Frankford
  • The station’s proximity to Route 113 enhances regional emergency response

“This location gets us much closer to the highway and will allow for a much quicker response,” said Robert Mauch, Deputy Director of the Sussex County Department of Public Safety.

Dairy Queen Receives Green Light in Milton

A new Dairy Queen is on its way to the Cypress Grove development off Route 16 in Milton.

The 2,100-square-foot restaurant will include a drive-thru and 33 parking spaces, and will sit next to a planned Dunkin Donuts.

  • Plans include a shared entrance with Dunkin and a ground-mounted sign
  • Preliminary plans approved by the Milton Planning and Zoning Commission in April
  • Final approvals from state and county officials are still pending
  • This new addition promises more sweet options for residents and travelers passing through the area.

The store has not announced a target opening date.
